The Wimbledon Book Club is a reading group that meets in Wimbledon, SW19 Merton South London, on the first and third Mondays of the month.

We all know most Bookclubs tend to read the same things don't we? 'The Help' or 'Eat, Prey,  Love  Marketing Opportunity™' or 'The Da V¡nc¡ Code'. Not us.

We read contemporary fiction paperbacks and being an adventurous bunch we often like to read something different. This could be Romantic Fiction, Literary Classics, Pulp Fiction, Crime Fiction, Current Affairs, Science Fiction or anything else that helps us become 'Well Read'.

Except chicklit. We don't read chicklit.

Unlike some Bookclubs we are INDEPENDENT, don't have our books chosen by a Book Shop, marketing department, TV Chat Show, publisher or any other commercial interest. Our book choice's are always about having a good read and a good nights discussion, not sales.

Since 2008 we have read a wide range of novels including Star of the sea, Brighton Rock, The Corrections, The Great Gatsby, Brave New World/Island, One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich, Dangerous Parking, Flicker, The Left Hand Of Darkness, From Hell, Snow, The Master & Margarita, Flat Earth News, Three men in a boat/Three Men on the Bummel, The Big Sleep/Farewell, My Lovely, A Very British Coup, The Remains of the Day, The Leopard, The Book of the New Sun, The Poisonwood Bible, Tender Morsles, Let The Right One In, The Butcher Boy, Shogun, The Damned Utd, Norwegian Wood, The City and The City, The Siege Of Krishnapur, The Death of the Heart, Never Let Me Go, The Outsider, White Tiger, The Sparrow, Frankenstein, Wolf Totem and Rebecca.
